About SCPT Family

3 canoe families from the Sunshine Coast participated in 2011 PULLING TOGETHER on the West Coast of Vancouver Island. This annual event involves approximately 20 canoe families, or 300 participants, and community members en route. Pulling Together is a unique opportunity for the RCMP, First Nations People, Youth, and other government agencies to work together and build relations. Thank you for visiting our blog. We hope to update the blog regularly until we meet again in Pulling Together 2012. All my relations.

The SD46 Aboriginal Ed Teaching Team 2011/2012

One of the unique occurrences that happened on this Pulling Together Journey is the presence of the entire Aboriginal Ed Teaching Team of SD46.  Who else would better communicate the goodness of Pulling Together to the students and staff of SD46 than with the Aboriginal Ed Teaching Team.

Kerry, the principal of Aboriginal Education in SD46 is a visionary.  She is a quiet leader who tends not to "toot her own horn."  Well, I'm blowing it as loud as I can.  Kerry understands people, learning, and leadership.  I appreciate what she does for the school district and for the Sunshine Coast Pulling Together Family.  She is selfless and humble.  All my relations to you... Kerry.

  1. What an honour to have Tami, Kristi and Signy come along on the journey. We think of Noelle, too - who was with us in spirit and spending precious time with her own family. Looking forward to applying lessons we learned in the canoe to our work supporting Aboriginal learners on the Sunshine Coast next school year. Thank-you. Kerry
