About SCPT Family

3 canoe families from the Sunshine Coast participated in 2011 PULLING TOGETHER on the West Coast of Vancouver Island. This annual event involves approximately 20 canoe families, or 300 participants, and community members en route. Pulling Together is a unique opportunity for the RCMP, First Nations People, Youth, and other government agencies to work together and build relations. Thank you for visiting our blog. We hope to update the blog regularly until we meet again in Pulling Together 2012. All my relations.

Ahousaht Hospitality - July 2, 2011

We were so wet and cold from our paddle on July 2nd, it was a friendly relief to arrive to Ahousaht and their hospitality.  Crews were quickly collecting their gear, hanging up wet clothes, and lining up for the (cold) showers.  It was impressive that such a small community sets out to host approximately 300 people. They served us a delicious salmon and potato salad dinner with dessert and coffee too.  We are so grateful to have a warm place to stay, a shower to bathe, and to be entertained by the youth of their community.  Thank you for your kindness and generosity.  It was greatly appreciated.
