About SCPT Family

3 canoe families from the Sunshine Coast participated in 2011 PULLING TOGETHER on the West Coast of Vancouver Island. This annual event involves approximately 20 canoe families, or 300 participants, and community members en route. Pulling Together is a unique opportunity for the RCMP, First Nations People, Youth, and other government agencies to work together and build relations. Thank you for visiting our blog. We hope to update the blog regularly until we meet again in Pulling Together 2012. All my relations.

Robert Speaks - July 6, 2011

Robert is a local from Pancheana Bay who came to our campsite to share his wisdom as an elder, socialize with the Pulling Together Community, and act as a representative of his community.  After our HUGE circle that announced the cancellation of upcoming paddles and the framework of the day, Robert offered to share his stories about the dugout canoe named the "Kle Kle Ha" (aka Lightning) and his experiences paddling along the West Coast to any Pulling Together members who wanted to listen during the skippers meeting.  He attracted many interested pullers who gathered around the Pancheana Bay's dugout canoe.  Thank you Robert for sharing your stories with us.
