About SCPT Family

3 canoe families from the Sunshine Coast participated in 2011 PULLING TOGETHER on the West Coast of Vancouver Island. This annual event involves approximately 20 canoe families, or 300 participants, and community members en route. Pulling Together is a unique opportunity for the RCMP, First Nations People, Youth, and other government agencies to work together and build relations. Thank you for visiting our blog. We hope to update the blog regularly until we meet again in Pulling Together 2012. All my relations.

My Mentor - Joy

What can I say?  Joy exemplifies what the Journey is all about.  She is kind, thoughtful, and family comes first.  Joy and I volunteered to stay behind, with Pat and Kyle, as ground crew as the fleet headed from Ucluelet to Toquaht.  Justin and Val do an AWESOME job as ground crew for the Sunshine Coast Pulling Together Family and helping out was the least that we could do.  Joy always keeps a 'joyful' disposition and approaches all situations with a positive attitude.  All I can say is... she is the kind of person I hope to be one day.  She is a strong leader with the ethics of care in mind.  I love you, Joy.  Thank you for being a part of the Pulling Together journey.  Below is a picture of Joy receiving the SD46 canoe in Toquaht.  What an honour.
